Beauty

Beauty comes from the inside and not what people look like. Do you agree with that? or are you one of those people who believe that personality doesn’t matter as long as the outside shell is perfect?

I was speaking to my Bestie yesterday, and we were discussing this topic, and he said something that made me think deeper if we look at people based on the beauty standards of the greeks. For example, no one is beautiful compared to the Greek Gods lols. But why do humans put themselves through that? Why don’t we believe in ourselves and our beauty without requiring confirmation from strangers we might not meet again? If you love yourself the way you are, you will be a force of confidence, and everyone will be attracted to you; end result is everyone will love you or be jealous of you. Trust me on that. Most “beautiful people” are so shallow and selfish and entitled.

But in all seriousness, shouldn’t we teach our kids that they should always believe that they are beautiful despite what others might think? Nowadays, many teenagers are hating themselves and trying to kill themselves because they don’t look like celebs. If we want to ensure this doesn’t keep happening, maybe we could instill in them their love for themselves, among other things that we teach them.

I used to be one of the people who doubted myself, but with time and self-growth, I realized that I might not be beautiful enough for you, but I am for me and everyone who loves me. So to all the shallow people, we should say, “You don’t have a place in my life, and I don’t need your negativity.” Now, when someone says they like me as a person and then change when they see me, it doesn’t hurt me like before or make me doubt myself (it happened to me very recently and didn’t even make me slow down, not a second). I am me; if you don’t like this version, find another person who fits you. It is in the eye of the beholder, and that beholder is you; believe in that, and you will thrive. That is all I’m saying.
