The news

Aside from watching Becky Anderson or Wolf Blitzer or Anderson Cooper lols, what is good about watching the news?

When was the last time you heard anything good on the news? Something that would put a smile on your face instead of giving you heartache and feeling bad for other people's miseries.

I was watching an old episode of John Oliver, and in it, there was coverage of news people saying that good news doesn’t sell. As with everything else, everything nowadays is measured in how much money it brings in, and so is the news business. A 24/7 reel of death, destruction, wars, famine, finger-pointing, etc.

Everywhere you look, any news channel you open, all you see is destruction and death and hatred and killing. Why would anyone subject themselves to this by choice? My father, for example, watches the news religiously (except when I’m there, we already established that lols). He is glued to the TV listening to what is happening around us, and when I ask him what the point is? What he gains from that? he doesn’t have an answer; he keeps saying I want to know what is happening around us.

Here is my question, though, when you watch, you get heartache (If you are human and care about others’ misery), and there is nothing that you can do to help them or change their lives for the better, assuming you are a normal person like myself, so why do you put yourself through that in the first place?

And this is why I have decided, will start an Instagram page and start posting funny videos; any good news I hear, whatever I think might put a smile on other people's faces, and you are welcome to join or share what you think might brighten someone’s day, this is how we should fight the wave of bad news that has been engulfing us over the past 8 or 9 years with no sign of any sunshine. So let’s work together to make out reality better. That is all I’m saying.
