South Korea
Towards the end of last year, I went to Korea for the first time. My sister, the genius in the family (knock on wood), has lived there for years; it doesn’t seem to end lols. She finished her master’s degree and now doing her Ph.D., which we are so proud of her for, but obviously, we miss her enormously. She doesn’t get much time off, and when I went there, I understood how hard it was for her to come to visit every time.
The journey was so long that I was happy I spoiled myself at Dubai airport and booked the Majlis service. It was fun I forgot my ID at the Majlis; the poor things had to bring it to me before the flight took off. I swear, if my head weren’t attached to my body, I would have lost it. After 10 hours in the air, we finally arrived in Seoul, and from there, I had to take another flight to Busan. So that is another check-in and wait process; by the time I reached out to her place, I had been on the move for 24 hours. But once I was there, it was 10 of the most amazing days I have ever had; I had so much with her, not that we went out much, but the time we spent together was awesome.
We started the journey back at 11 am from Busan, and by the time we were in Dubai, it was 5 am the next day when I went to my house in AD, and my sis went to Sharjah to participate in a conference. I can’t wait to do it again in October this year.
